What I do as explained to a 5 year old.
Imagine your favorite toy broke and you're not sure how to fix it. There's a friend who's really good at fixing toys and figuring out why they stopped working in the first place. This friend comes over, looks at your toy very carefully, asks you how you play with it, and then suggests some ways to make it even better than before. They stick around to help you fix it, show you how to play so it doesn't break again, and even check back later to make sure it's still working great.
